Why Squarespace

Choosing the right platform to host your business shouldn’t be daunting, in fact it should be fun and thoughtful! There are a plentitude of different platforms to use, each with their own benefits and let downs. While I have worked in nearly every web design platform, I keep coming back to Squarespace and find that it is often the best website platform for most clients. Here are my top 4 reasons why I would recommend Squarespace.

  1. The platform is user friendly.

    1. You don’t have to know code to design a great looking website.

    2. Once the website is built it is easy to maintain.

    3. In the 7.1 version it uses a drag and drop feature so you can move text boxes/photos/graphics around to create something powerful

    4. It is easy to create brand cohesive feeling across the whole website (and blog/shop/emails if you use those).

  2. The platform is designed to grow with your business.

    1. Many times we start with simple websites (which is great!) including a home page, about, contact, but Squarespace has built in features to add as you go:

      1. Shop: both digital and physical

      2. Portfolio: This can be dynamic, simple password protected, whatever you need to showcase your work.

      3. Memberships: Member only areas allow you to have built in levels to your business.

      4. Reservations: think consulting calls, classes.

      5. Blog: Your blog maybe where you share free goodies, a wealth of knowledge or even a sytlized portfolio.

  3. Email/Newsletter

    1. With built in service to start growing your email list, you have no excuse not to! The best news is you can start with just one lead and have one email list or create different “opt-ins” for different clients.

    2. Built in email/newsletter service. Once you have created the list now you can email directly through Squarespace, using the same cohesive branding as your website.

  4. Code: Yes you can add code!

    1. I get it… you see that website that someone has and it is BEAUTIFUL! While Squarespace is great for beginners, don’t get discouraged by its simplicity… making a custom website using code is totally possible!
